The woman is Granny Harper, I think.  I believe that the players and Granny were part of the Renfro Valley Barndance group.  They had broadcasts over various radio stations during the late '30s and '40s, in the order of The Grand Olde Opry.

Renfro Valley is a music venue in Kentucky, created by broadcaster John Lair; the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame museum is located there.  The music played at Renfro Valley has now deteriorated to mostly 'Nashville Sound'.
