Group of men with banjo, tambourine, home-made fiddle and home-made cello, the first three, at least, seem to know how to play.

The photographer has rigged up a white screen in a garden.

A private photograph.  Full provenance not known, but the recent postcard dealer has written 'Peasmarsh, Sussex' on the back in pencil.  He probably found it in a house-clearance lot there. Peasmarsh is about three miles north-east of Rye on the A268.

Probably before the Great War, but it could be 1920s.

From the Reg Hall Collection.
